FALL PROTECTION “COMPETENT” PERSON COURSE
|
This 8-hour course is designed for construction personnel who will be
responsible for supervision on jobsites where fall hazard exist. Attendees
will learn the OSHA competent person requirements for fall protection,
fall hazard identification, how to select the proper protective system
and importance of pre-planning for fall protection. Attendees will take a
written examination at the completion of the course and upon passing will
be issued a course completion card.

Fall Hazards
General Requirements for Fall Protection
Use and application of conventional fall protection systems including
positioning and personal fall arrest equipment
Use and application of specialized fall protection systems, including
fall protection plans
Inspection and maintenance of fall protection systems
Competent person training requirements
Pre-planning techniques to eliminate fall exposures
Rescue considerations
Who Should Attend:
Any supervisor who will be assigned to a jobsite where fall hazards
exist, and those individuals who need to become familiar with OSHA
Standards for competent person in fall protection.
